2020 has been, well, a little crazy. That’s not to say some good things didn’t come out of this year! As an Aveda salon, Panache is proud to announce that this summer, Aveda moved closer to its 10-year goal of becoming a carbon-positive manufacturer when it activated a solar panel array at its headquarters in Minnesota.
With almost 3,000 panels, the solar field generates enough energy to power 124 homes for a year. The best part? All of the facility’s energy that’s not sourced from solar power will come directly from another sustainable source—wind power, which previously provided 100% of Aveda’s manufacturing energy.
Aveda’s solar installment is plant- and wildlife-friendly, equipped with new landscaping to create a natural habitat beneath the panels. Located on a National Wildlife Federation-Certified Habitat, this eco-friendly element was essential to the field’s design.
